A little while after I had corrected her for a high of 450 this morning she came to me saying that she felt really low. (You have no idea how grateful that my 4 year old can tell me what her body is trying to tell her!) She climbed up on the bar stool and put her head down on the counter while I grabbed her tester. She closed her eyes and told me that she just wanted to go to sleep. I quickly tested her and there it was.

I started to shake and got her some juice and quick as I could. She was so pale and so sickly looking. She didn't want to lift her head to drink, but she knew that was the only thing to make her better. She drank it as fast as she could. We all stood there in shock and super worried. I wanted to cry. I couldn't believe that she was that low. Even her diabetic grandpa (that was sitting next to her) said that he had never seen a low THAT low.
It took her about 20 minutes or so to feel better. As we watched her you could just see the life coming back into her. I don't know how close she was to being unconscious, but I can't help but feel it was really close! We called her doctor and he made some adjustments.
It was scary! Really really scary!

scary! I am glad she is ok!!!
Riley's lowest low so far has been a 32. It is very scary.
I'm glad she's OK. And, what a big girl to notice her low and let you know.
Gosh, what a roller coaster ride! I'm so sorry you've had so much trouble. I hope they can get her levels all figured out!
I'm sorry you had a scare like this!
Shannon-love your blog! Your kids are SERIOUSLY ADORABLE! Where are you guys living now? Sorry about your scary day-I'm glad everything turned out okay. Also, I added you to our blog list for when we go private. Nina
Wow 29 is scary! We've had that happen to Tristan also. Last year while at school is "kind of passed out" due to low blood sugar. Hopefully it will never happen again to either one of us!
Yikes! Thats scary :( I'm glad she's ok!!
:( This is heartbreaking. So thankful Shannon that she is okay. I am hoping you never have to see that number ever again.
