Let the Potty Training begin.

My little princess needs to be potty trained. It is something that I have been meaning to work on for the last 6 months, but there has just been so much going on in the last 6 months that it has been hard to get to. But now I have to do it! I only have 8 weeks left until I have a little baby, and who knows how long it will take me to get to it if I wait.

So Thursday we begin. I have made her little charts, and have talked it up as much as I can. It only took little dude 3 days to learn, so I am hoping that it goes just as well with her. So wish me luck! At least this time I have hard wood floors to clean instead of carpet. That will be much nicer!

Don't you wish there was more time in the to get everything done. I potty trained my son when he was two. I began by researching potty training and a common theme seemed to be praise and positive reinforcement. I came across a website called www.pottytrainingrewards.com. We hung it in the kitchen and named the little boy on the front of the package, Bobby. My son could not wait to go to the potty so he could push the button, hear the praising message, and get his chocolate reward from, Bobby. It really got my son excited about using the potty himself and it was fun for him. Because he became so involved, potty training was easy. So give it a try. Good Luck!

I am loving this blog thing.. I gave mine up for awhile but started again... I am glad to hear you are starting potty training. It isnt fun always and I know all too well. Good luck I am right around the corner with trying to start my lil guy again. He wasnt ready when we first tried so we stopped for fear of him thinking it was torture. (He screamed everytime we said lets try and go potty) He is starting to show a LITTLE and I mean lil interest again! So goodluck to you it sounds like you are on the right path! Christal

If you think you are going to be home for a few days just take her out of pull ups/diapers completly and be prepared to change her often!!! Don't make a big deal out of it just tell her, "next time we'll use the potty, right?" eventually she'll just not like being wet and get the hang of it!! It took us about a week of this then it took a little longer to "master" the whole process.
