Honk if you feel my pain.

The kids got new beds! This is great news becuse they have needed the new beds for awhile now, but we haven't been able to find the "right" beds. We did find some we liked on Saturday and they were delivered yesterday. The kids had been really excited to get their new beds until it was bed time. I had spend a good portion of the day getting their sheets washed and their rooms put back together. Then when we said that it was time for bed they did nothing but cry and throw fits. It took us forever to get them to lay down and try them out.

Daddy was in little princess' room for a few hours trying to get her to go to sleep. Little dude just cried for a bit, but came into our room at about 3 because he was "sick" (that is his way of saying that he wants to be in our bed not his). I took him into his bed again, and he just cried, and cried. Which woke up his sister and made her cry. While I tried to get her back to sleep, I decided that I was going to give up. I took my little princess into our bed to cuddle with daddy. Then I cuddled with little dude in his bed. I ended up sleeping half the night in his bed. By 6:30 I couldn't sleep anymore. I was too annoyed. So I got up to clean my house. Wonder what today is going to be like? I will need to cancel my guitar lessons just to take a nap with the kids.

I really feel your pain as far as kids in your bed. My 3 1/2 year old goes to bed in her own bed every night with no problems except the I'm thirsty thing every five minutes ffor about fifteen minutes. Every single night, I am usually awakened by first my 6 month old, who usually wakes up at 3:00 am every night, and I have to climb over a 3 1/2 year old to get out of bed to go answer to my 6 month old. I am just thankful that I can still cuddle with my husband while we're sleeping, she used to get in our bed and sleep right in between us. Oh the joys of parenting, just think of how boring our lives would be if we never had kids. :-)

Does that say enough?
Seriously though...sleep issues are NOT something to joke about. Let's see...Kid's don't sleep well, mom doesn't sleep well, some dad's still sleep well/some dad's still sleep like a rock (that would be mine until I kick him). A kid who doesn't sleep well leads to a cranky kid, a cranky mom and possibly a dad with a bruise on his arse. Hang in there...they will adjust to their new beds (or they'll learn to love the floor!) Just kidding!

I've been having bed issues too- only I'm the one getting out of bed in the middle of the night. Hehehe. I don't go hop into bed with someone else though... that would just cause problems. Oh well, at least you house is clean right?

hey- i'm still working on our 4 year niece (who lives with us) to stay in her own bed all night. she's just recently getting better at falling asleep in there, but she is often found in the middle of us by morning!

I will be attempting to make homemade chili rellenos this weekend so I'll let you know how it went and email you the recipe as well!
